Truffula Trees

To create my Truffula Trees I used the following items.

2 Sphere paper lanterns.
3 Feather boas for each Truffula head.
2 Empty Fabric cardboard rolls.
2 Black buckets
Some green paper for grass.
PVA glue and assorted paints.

Step One.

Cover lanterns with feather boas.

Step Two.

Paint the cardboard rolls like the trunks of the Truffula Trees.

Step Three

Cut green paper and glue on black pots.

Step Four

Tape up top hole of lantern from the inside, fill black pots with sand. Then push painted trunk into sand filled pot and place Truffula head on the top of the trunk. At the base of the tree I have used shredded coloured paper to cover up the sand.

The Lorax

Here are some photos of a few selected pieces of art work my Year 3 students created about the Lorax. We had the opportunity to see the movie before the Easter holidays. The children loved the movie and when we returned to school they planted their own tree to look after. I have also attached some photos and steps of the Truffula Trees I have made to decorate our class room.

Happy Easter.

Wishing everyone a happy Easter and to all of my teacher friends in Australia a great two week vacation.

I am hoping over these holidays I will have time to add some posts to my new blog.
